This is a trail ride primarily on the limestone pathways of the Illinois Prairie Path. There are a couple tiny segments of road traversal. This route runs up the Prairie Path to Wheaton, then to Elgin, down to Aurora and returning. As this is largely limestone rather than pavement the pace is moderate.

It is not recommended to use smaller road tires, although in July the trails can be very handpicked.

Since the average speed will be below the pace speed, expect to return late and plan lunch/food accordingly.
